Comerica gets new sales chief, Texas-region head

Ex-Wells Fargo private banker sets up bank's private-client shop in Dallas. Detroit, Mich.-based Comerica Bank has hired Michael Wilson, formerly regional manager of Wells Fargo Private Banking in Colorado, as its new head of sales and marketing for its wealth and institutional management business.

Two jobs

Dallas-based Wilson will also serve as head of Comerica's wealth and institutional management division in Texas.

At Wells Fargo, Wilson oversaw the San Francisco-based bank's private banking, personal trust, brokerage and portfolio management activities in Colorado.

In Texas he will oversee the delivery of Comerica's private banking, investment and trust products and services.

Nationally he will oversee the development of new products and markets for Comerica's private-client division.

Comerica has three major business lines: business banking, small-business and retail banking, and private-client services. It had assets of $57.5 billion at the end of March 2007. -FWR
